Finding furniture that I like is hard. Like, really hard. I searched for weeks for a couch that was within my price range but fit my style. Finally, I gave up and took a free couch from a college friend until I can find one I really like.
In the meantime, I’ve taken it upon myself to turn the old items I already had or was given into something that does fit my style.

My mom found this great dresser at the Cat’s Meow in Broadway.
Gave the knobs a good shine.
One coat of black stain and this piece looks better than most anything you can find online.
This panel board dresser has been in my bedroom since I was little.
With a few coats of paint and freshly sprayed hardware you’d never know it’s over 20 years old!
This frame also belonged to my great grandmother. I painted the edges and had new glass installed.
Now it holds a picture that I took in Ireland.
Black, of course and looks like brand new.
This little cart is very sturdy but I wasn’t crazy about the wood.

I love how this turned out! Plus I get to keep something that otherwise wasn’t being used.
This old chest was the perfect size for what I needed.
I lined the inside with floor vinyl to waterproof and keep the litter from making a mess.
With a hole in the side for entry, this turned into the hidden cat litter box.
From the outside you can hardly tell what lies within its walls.
